Eric will be reading selected passages of his critically acclaimed debut novel, Above All Men, as well as passages of exclusive new unpublished work being heard for the first time, at Taylor Books in Charleston, West Virginia, on March 12th, 2015, at 6 p.m. There will be a meet-and-greet, a book signing, a reading in the Annex Art Gallery, and copies of the novel available for purchase. Eric was awarded the inaugural New River Gorge Winter Writers Residency and is currently in the midst of spending three months residing at Lafayette Flats, a four-unit luxury vacation rental located in a recently renovated 111-year-old former bank building in the Fayetteville Historic District, neighboring Charleston. While in Fayetteville, Eric is working on a stand-alone novel set in Pennsylvania at the end of World War I that follows an Appalachian family into West Virginia during the mine wars.

Taylor Books is an independent bookstore, coffee shop, café, and art gallery, located on Capitol Street in downtown Charleston. They carry a broad selection of books, a wide variety of hard-to-find magazines, and a unique collection of cards and gifts, and feature a café with light fare, salads, soups, quiches, sandwiches, coffee, tea, juices, and locally microbrewed beer, along with free Wi-Fi. The Annex Gallery showcases local contemporary art and handmade crafts, as well as offering art classes in the Annex Studios.
